THE POOL

Our swimming pool photography location has no shallow end, it's only about 5ft deep, however, it is possible to use for underwater photography too! We have daylight balanced lights within the pool it's self (prior we didn't, they were warm white should the images contradict it) and a full wall of windows for natural light. As a photography location, however, it doesn't stop just in the water, many will use the pool as a backdrop for portraits and for swimwear fashion photography. There's pool furniture can be used as props for the general aesthetic. There's also a steam room which could be used as a photography location for images too.
As we don't bring in lighting from our main photography studio as there's, of course, few power outputs given that water and electricity don't mix; we do have a couple of battery powered Broncolor Siros that I'll allow the use of - these lights are my personal location strobe lights and are some serious kit! You will of course have to be extra careful and vigilant around the pool, not least because of my equipment and protecting the model, but many insurance policies will not pay out if you use your camera around open water - I myself have a special policy to use my camera in the water.
Alongside Photography, the pool is often used for mermaid meets where local mermaids can practice their public shows without being surrounded by said public - and I bet you thought they were mythical creatures!?

Splashpoint Photo Studio has become one of my regular studios for doing photoshoots with models with me having shot here an additional 12 times over the past couple of years and already booked in for at least another 3 studio days over the next couple of months.
What else can I say but that this is probably one of the best photography studios I have ever been to with so much variety in backdrops, ranging from the indoor pool to a full house with a range of varied and stunning rooms, and of course the main studio itself complete with floating steps, rope swing, neon signs and much more.
There is so much to work with here that, even after all my times shooting at the studio, there are still areas I haven't shot in. All this of course comes complete with a wide range of lighting options and the technical expertise of studio owner Russ who has never failed to help me bring my vision to life with me taking many amazing images here.
The atmosphere is very laid back which makes for some very relaxed shoots and a great time is always had working here. And to top of it all off the cost of hire is fantastic value!
