MAIN PHOTOGRAPHY STUDIO

So obviously every good photography studio needs, well, a studio, with an infinity curve as the backbone of proceeding!
A painted white infinity curve is far more versatile than most think, and with light fall off from careful light control and utilising distance, it can be easily made grey and then some. Ours is over 5 meters wide and also doubles up as a screen for a 4K projector should you wish to do photography talks and tutorials via an HDMI attachment, or maybe get creative using a projector to light a model. Alongside the infinity curve are several of the standard 2.7m wide photography backdrop papers.
The majority of our lights are housed with in the main studio, and these range from Bowens and Godox strobes to various continuous lights including a ring and a few RBG light wands. We have many Bowens fit light modifiers from big Octoboxes, to Beauty Dishes, Reflector Dishes, Snoots, Gobos, and then strip softboxes galore. As a photographer myself, I love having options, and our photography studio certainly has plent of them!
The Neon Wall

One of the most recognisable features of our main photography studio, is of course our neon wall - we did neon before almost everyone else.. in fact, it was inspired by a London based neon prop hire warehouse called God's Own Junkyard who had hosted a handful of shoots for Vogue, but when I enquired many years ago, the budget was a little out of mine.. so I made my own little neon sign paradise instead! These days, Gods Own Junkyard are a cafe and space of their own, but we've teamed up with fellow awesome Northerners, Neon Vibes UK, to create some custom pieces and an amazing neon photography location away from the capital!
It's an ever involving wall from additions that include an arcade facia that plays music, to a real traffic light, and our trademark heart neon which also swings off the wall on a hinge, so it can be used as a huge 'ring' light should you ever want heart catchlights in the eyes. The neon may not be the easiest photography set to master, but it's sure fun to try, and i'm always around to offer a helping hand
The Free-floating Steps

Another popular USP of the photography studio is our 'free-floating' steps design. Whether you're posing pros, uber flexible contortionists, or clients; these unassuming steps can be used really creatively, or they can just merely give the subject something to do with their hands and feet to help naturally pose them at different levels - a really useful tool for photography poses and those who aren't sure what to do with their limbs!

Had the pleasure of spending a few hours in Russ' studio on one of his arranged shoot days. What a brilliant place. The studio itself is very well equipped with plenty of lighting options and modifiers. We then moved into the grand hallway for some elegance and in the end we totally lost track of time and I could have easily spent 8 hours there and not just the 4 we had booked.

From the friendly welcome by him and his family, the supply of coffee and general friendliness, I look forward to being able to use this space again in the future. There is literally not enough that they can do for you when you shoot there.
