THE BOUDOIR

In stark contrast to our other house locations, our boudoir photography space is a very modern and neutral one. As a lived in part of the home, it's a location that is constantly evolving, yet the core of the room, aka the bed flanked by the awesome bookshelf and fish tank, is of course the constant. The above image makes up approximately a 3rd of the room, so there's also an 'L' shaped cream sofa which can be used as a photography set too, but it has recently moved to the last 3rd of the room from the middle to make the most of the space. Of course the neon light theme from our main photography studio makes an appearance in this modern setting, but the one above the bed can be taken down if you find it distracting too. There are more props and quirks to be found here, such as a high heel chair and a quirky 5-headed lamp from Drew Pritchard's of Salvage Hunters fame.!
There's a Velux window allows in natural light, and it can produce some beautiful light for those of you whom prefer working with daylight over strobe lighting, but it also has the ability to be very hard and distracting. On hard light sunny days, a solid square of light will move on to the bed about 12 noon, however, never fear, we often modify the light with a large scrim which produces the equivalent of beautiful soft overcast daylight. As suggested, you can of course bring strobe lighting up from the main studio too. The Velux has a black-out blind which will completely kill all natural light in the room, or you can balance the two and get creative too.

There are other bedrooms on the top floor that don't have the same aesthetic and are quite a bit smaller, but they could be used too, but that is assuming we don't have guests staying over. Often the spare rooms will be used for touring models themselves should they need accommodation either the night before or night of their studio day. Ive included some images in the gallery below!
I've been waiting for a long time for the right client shoot to take to Splash Point, and I'm absolutely delighted. What a fantastic studio and house to shoot in.

Russ is incredibly welcoming, ensuring we had everything we needed and keeping the coffee and tea flowing. He is an absolute gentleman.

We got through a two-day commercial product listing and brand image shoot in the studio and in the house respectively. The studio is so well-equipped, with great features. The house also provides a super elegant, classy setting perfect for the branding my client was after.

My client was so pleased with my suggestion of shooting at Splash Point. We will be back again, I'm sure. I highly recommend Splash Point.
